Episode 19: Do You Like My Hat?

QUENCH AND TEMPER: 
  • Triangle spotlight. 
    • Top-Down Triangle: Increase 4 sts per two rows. 
    • Bottom-Up Triangle: Decrease 4 sts per two rows. 
    • Sideways Triangle: Increase along one edge until you reach halfway through your yarn, then decrease along the same edge until you finish. 
    • Tip-Up Triangle: Cast on 1 st (or more) Increase 2 sts per two rows (or more).
    • Bottom-Down Triangle: Cast on all the stitches needed. Decrease 2 sts per two rows (or more).
    • Centered Sideways Triangle: cast on stitches provisionally. Decrease along one edge until no stitches remain. Pick up the held stitches and decrease down to one stitch. 
    • Heart-Shaped Triangle: Increase 6 sts per two rows.

Episode 6: Rumble, Ramble

WIP's: 


Josh is working on the Cubism blanket by Woolly Thoughts. He is knitting it out of Red Heart (gasp!) Super Saver and on US size 9/5.5 mm needles. 


The second project of the week is his westknits scrapghan which is actually a Frankie Brown design known as the Ten Stitch Blanket, which has been modified to be an 11 stitch blanket because Josh is a dork about numbers and 11 is his favorite number! It is knit out of the scraps of yarn from his westknits shawls (mostly fingering weight yarns) and on US size 3/3.25 mm needles. 


Josh is also working on a new design called 45 degrees, which has yet to appear in the knitting world, but will hopefully make its appearance soon! It is knit with fingering weight yarns in 3 colors on US size 4/3.5mm needles. 


The WIP's from previous weeks were untouched. Rams and Yowes Blanket by Kate Davies, Celestine by Norah Gaughan, and Mitered Crosses by Kay Gardiner. 


FO's: 


Josh actually had some!!! ;) 


Purl Ridge Scarf by Stephen West knit out of Berroco Peruvia in the colorway Alcaparro on US size 8/5mm needles.

Josh finished his Kraemer Mauch Chunky in the colorway Pine Nut and got 47-ish yards of bulky/worsted weight yarn out of 2 oz. 


Josh started spinning the Woolen Mill St. Yarns 100% corridale 4oz. braid in the color Nightmare.

Josh re-colored the blog this past week (as you can see if you read this!)
